Tarquin is a former senior British diplomat with over 30 years experience in government service working in the field of national security. During his time in the Foreign Office, he developed regional expertise in South East Asia, the Middle East and Europe. His work focused mainly on counter-terrorism and more latterly cyber security policy. He has wide overseas experience having served in Jakarta, Bucharest, Copenhagen, Basra and Canberra. In Canberra, Tarquin also led the Asia Pacific Regional Network as well as acting as the custodian of the strategic security relationship with Australia. He developed and promoted the UK’s cyber engagement with regional governments.
On leaving the Foreign Office in 2013, Tarquin was director for two years in a start-up cyber security company, helping to develop their capability and business as well as raising their profile within government. He then established a consulting company providing advice on overseas markets and supporting business development for a number of tech and other companies looking to export their capability abroad. He retains a close interest in innovation, both technical and human, and is a keen student of human interaction with technology and its attendant vulnerabilities.
Before joining the Foreign Office, Tarquin served as an army officer for just over five years. He has an MA in History from the University of Dublin.
I am delighted to announce the appointment of Tarquin Folliss OBE as Chief Assurance Officer for Assured Digital Group. Assurance is the key tenet of our business and is a critical component for all organisations in this increasingly inter-connected digital world. Amongst a few early priorities to support our growing activities building assured cloud services in Australia and supporting the development of the nascent genomics industry, Tarquin will have key responsibility as custodian of Assurance for ADG. This will include building and developing a set of core values and mission based on trust that will sustain the day to day fluctuations of technology and fad.
